Beast of Kolkoris in playtesting
Fresh on the heels of Temple of Hera, our next Agon adventure Beast of Kolkoris has gone to playtesting.
When I originally ran the game it set the record for “most Fate spent in a single quest” among my heroes. Seriously. Piles of Fate (somewhere John Harper is cackling with glee). Will the playtest heroes do better? We’ll see.
Assuming everything goes well Beast of Kolkoris should be ready for release in mid-May. Sharpen your spears.

Either way, it still sounds like your heroes spent a mess of Fate — Beast of Kolkoris is indeed no cakewalk.
Strike those last two entries, looking at your 10 threw me off–fuzzy math and all that.
It was 7 fate that I recorded for the adventure, but it should have been 5. Since one player never restored his full complement of divine favors at the beginning of the adventure, he unnecessarily spent 2 more fate to restore 2 divine favors. Clear as mud now, right.
Sorry, started that last one out incorrectly… the first sentence should have read…
“Technically, it should have been 8 Fate (vice 10).”
Alas, will have to wait for the next Spears & Glory to set the record.

Technically, it should have been 10 Fate. One of the players never restored his divine favor from the last game. He quickly burned through his remaining Divine Favor and unneccessarily used two Fate to restore two Divine Favor boxes. So the Fate burned should have been 8 for three players vice 10. Sorry for the confusion.

I just read your feedback Phil — spot on sir!
You may in fact have the new record for Fate spent in Beast of Kolkoris. The record stands at 12 (yes, 1-2) for four players, but that includes the Fate for winning the quest, so really only 2 per hero without that.
So the question is, did that 7 fate include the fate for winning the quest or not? If not, your heroes have got the new high score!
Ben–just sent you the playtest notes for Beast of Kolkoris. It was a blast–for both the Antagonist and the Heroes. Three heroes burned through seven fate in the quest you mentioned… what’s the record? Looking forward to the next Spears and Glory production.
