They're very different systems with entirely different philosophies. I don't think a formula will give you anything good.

I know there was some work done on converting the Mastermind product into a Truth and Justice product. Did you have a formula that we T&J Facilitator's can use to convert the D20 rules to a pdq system or is it more of a wing it and see what works?

Excellent! Excellent excellent excellent! Every fight or encounter, situation or circumstance should try to involve these. I was using them since I started DMing on the example of penny-arcade. Unique elements to a fight that make it more interesting.

Example
The party encounters the necromancer in his lair, his is in the midst of summoning an army of the dead from his sacrificial pit, every so turns zombies rise from the pit. However, the cleric is able to spend a round counteracting this effect, he has to figure out the rules, but giving them a prompt before the fight gives them more of an inclination to explore the mechanics of the game to discover this.

A fight is taking place high above a ball across two balconies and a chandalier, athletics checks are needed to engage the enemy on the other side, and the chandalier sways as characters move upon it, dangerous intence balance checks as the party engages the enemy.
