Follow Needs Playtesters
I’ve been having a lot of fun playing Follow and now I’m ready to share it with playtesters. Which means you!
As always, I’m looking for people who will actually play the game and provide feedback, not just read it. If you’re interested, drop me a line at follow-playtest at lamemage.com or leave a comment in this post and I’ll get your email from the hidden email field. Let me know the last few role-playing games you’ve played so I have a sense of what kind of spread of gamers I’m getting.
Yes, Follow is a game where we work together to complete a quest. And right now our quest is to playtest Follow…
UPDATE: There’s also a G+ group for Follow if you want chat about the game or keep an eye on how the playtest is going.

If playtesting is still on, my group would love o take for a spin. Thanks Ben for creating great games!
If you’re still looking for playtesters, I’m interested! My groups are mostly D&D 5e, though I have played the Dresden Files RPG as well. It seems like Follow could be a very interesting addition to our list of game options.
Thanks!
I would love to play test Follow, Ben. The last group of games I’ve played are Free Booting Venus, Apocalypse World: Dark Age, Dungeon World, Fate Core, and Microscope. Thanks :)
Hi Ben! I am somwehat late to the party, but would love to playtest Follow with my wife and as a inbetween game with my regular group. I know Kingdom and Mircoscope and played each a few times. Your games are awesome!
I sent an email also, but I figured I would cover my bases. I have a group that has the rpg bug and we have played dungeon world, fiasco, and microscope, as well as board and card games, and I would love to playtest this. My partner is afraid of playing fiasco due to its darker impulses, but follow seems like it could be different.
Recently I’ve played:
Dread
Inverse World
Black Stars Rise
Hey! My group is pretty new, but we’ve played Fiasco and an extended Beyond the Wall campaign, and are planning to pick up a Dungeon World campaign once the Beyond the Wall one wraps up. If you’re still looking for playtesters, we’d be happy to give it a shot!
I’ve got a group who’d be interested. We’ve played mostly GURPS and Microscope, and if you let us in, I’ll put it on our Whatsapp group as soon as I see the e-mail.
Hi there!
I have 2 groups that I game with regularly, and across them we play a fair spread of games. I have one group that I’d love to try out Follow with. Our recent list over the last two months is:
– Pathfinder
– Dragon Age
– Dungeon World
– Microscope
– Cthulhu 7th Ed
– D&D 5E
– The Sprawl.
I have a group who would love to help with the playtest of Follow.
We are currently playing AD&D2e and FFG’s Star Wars RPG. In the past we’ve played Kingdom and Microscope, 1000 Years Under the Sun, Dungeon World and several other Powered by the Apocalypse games, Savage Worlds, D&D3/3.5, D&D4, Cyberpunk, various versions of Fate, Exalted, Archipelago and so many more!
Greetings!
Absolutely love Microscope and Kingdom. We as a larp organizers use some Microscope elements in larp design a lot and highly recommend your games to everyone.
It would be an honor and a pleasure to playtest Follow.
Microscope and kingdom have been some of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had and I would love to playtest follow, I have a feeling it will be just as satisfying. I have
All the best

I would love to playtest follow!
Hi my group would love to playtest Follow. We have done playtests for several other games including Dresden Files Accelerated and Ghost Planet and have recently formed a roll20 group for regularly playing your other games as well as Fall of Magic and Serpent’s Tooth.
So many great playtesters! All the current welcome emails have gone out, so if you didn’t get one let me know.
I foresee a lot of games of Follow in the near future…
Hey….I had told you on G+ that I’d like to play your game Follow…
I’d love to help out with playtesting. I’m currently running a 5e D&D campaign and have quite often used Microscope as a world building tool.
Hi, I’d like to help out with this, My game group is currently finishing up a campaign of The Sprawl that I’ve been MCing, I’ve also been playing in a savage worlds game and Generally play game that fall into the indie category.
Cheers
Jeremy
I’ve played Pathfinder and Dresden Files RPG recently, and this looks pretty cool. I’d be down for playesting.
Hi!
I am currently game mastering a campaign using rules roughly based on silhouette (heavy gear) and background from Eberron. I’ve recently played “la mirada del centinela” an Spanish table top RPG.
From Spain with love.
Xavi.
Cheers,
I’m a writer and I love stories, and I have forced my friends to play Microscope and Kingdom quite freqeuently. Even my self-diagnosed “highly uncreative” girlfriend loves them. I don’t play many tabletops, aside from yours, but I do believe I can provide special insight into how simple and easy to explain the game is, as I will try to play it with my also not very tabletop-experienced friends after having consumed some “special” brownies. None of them know about the game or know its rules, but they have played Microscope and/or Kingdom with me, so they know those games I bring are breddy gud. I also make random tables for RPGs, if that is any qualification at all. Looking forward to your response!
Best wishes,
Gwydion, a German
Hello and welcome, even more playtesters! If you signed up or sent me an email you should see the welcome email in your inbox. If you don’t, let me know!
Interested. I need a quick to pick up game with the potential for depth.
I’d love to playtest this!
I am currently mid-campaign in an Amber (diceless) game.
Last Saturday (Free RPG day) I played a one-shot each of ShadowRun and Firefly (having not had a chance to use their systems before).
Within the past few months I’ve played Microscope and some other games more suited to one-shots at a regular local event.
A year or so ago I was also playing in various short campaigns using a variety of systems, each with different genre, theme and levels of “dice”ness.
Some years ago I was LARPing a lot, and playing lots of World of Darkness.
That’ll do for “the past few”, though!
I am interested, and trends to play primarily storygames at those point.
–Dave
I’d love to give this a try! Here’s the games I I’ve played over the past few months (more recent first): The Skeletons, Dogs in the Vineyard, Swords Without Master (Starward Hack), Inspectres, D&D 5e, Dungeon World, HeroQuest Glorantha, Apocalypse World, Night Witches, Juggernaut, Superhero Bakery, Fall of Magic, and Downfall.
I know our group would love to playtest this. We’ve enjoyed Microscope and Kingdom. Generally we’re Fate-hack & PbtA players.
Welcome everybody! Everyone who left a comment here or emailed me should see a welcome email with a download link. Let me know if you didn’t get one.
More details about playtesting and feedback later, but right now I just want you to take it for a spin and see how it works. As I say in the doc, don’t worry that it’s a playtest, just play it like any other game.
I would totally be interested! My most recent experience has been with Dungeon World, but I have a lot of history using Call of Cthulhu. I’ve also played a number of RPGs of my own design, as well as some systems created by friends. I’m often piloting from the role as DM, but I occasionally take the role of player.
Super interested!
I playtested Kingdom (briefly) and regularly pester my friends and family to play Microscope together (with occasional success). Other than that, most of my recent (non-PC) gaming has been Pathfinder or Pathfinder-based. Longer term, I’ve also played CoC, White Wolf’s Changeling, and most editions of D&D.
Recently (in the last months) I’ve played Kingdom, Microscope, Sagas of the Icelanders, Lovecraftesque, Fiasco, A Penny For My Thoughts, Archipelago, Questlandia and playtested a few semi-LARPs for Jason Morningstar and Ole Peder Giæver. I’ve also participated in a few playtests on the Gauntlet Hangouts (Lovecraftesque, Facility, Malandros, Public Access).
Looking forward to testing Follow!
Best regards,
Johannes
I’ve played Night’s Black Agents (the Dracula Dossier), Venture City, and Kingdom recently (a great Starfall game!)
