I’d like to thank the Academy…
The results from the Gaming Genius Awards are finally in, and I’m happy to report that Microscope has won Most Innovative New Product for 2011!
Not bad, right? But hold the presses because the slate for the 2011 Golden Geek Awards is up and Microscope has been nominated for RPG: Game of the Year!
Whew. Pretty exciting.
The other finalists include some great games, so Microscope is up against some stiff competition (I’m looking at you, Apocalypse World!). Voting is open until the end of October, so if you want your voice to be heard, now’s the time to VOTE!.

Wow, thanks Erik! Hearing from people who really enjoy playing the game is the best reward of all. It sounds trite, but it’s 100% true.
Congrats! Really, this was meant to be an email, but I simply couldn’t find yours anywhere on the site. I’ll keep it short and simple, then: Microscope is so, SO fun! Playing it with four people from my regular RPG group, and we’re loving it. You deserve that award, and Game of the Year is a no-brainer as far as I’m concerned.
That, and your blog is amazing. I’ve fairly new at GMing, only done about 20 separate sessions, but it’s very fun. Reading ars ludi and everything there really inspires me to be more, to improve upon what I already have in terms of RPGs and having fun with them. I don’t think the same way about adventures, campaigns, player/character interactions or why things are the way they are anymore. I’ve also got the West March Itchies.
I could go on with the praise, but I think you get the picture. What you’ve accomplished here is truly inspiring, insightful and awesome in the true sense of the word. For that, with all my heart, THANK YOU!
